SIPPAR’s commitment to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment starts with the organization's senior leaders, and it is the responsibility of everyone in the organization, including the newest recruit. This commitment enhanced its reputation and image, enabling it to maintain and expand its reputable customer base.
Element 1: Commitment, Leadership, and Accountability
Element 1 defines SIPPAR's commitment to quality, health, safety, and the environment at both SIPPAR company and personal level. A commitment to QHSE is expected of all employees, but it begins with top management. Our ultimate goal is to eliminate all injuries, occupational illnesses, and environmental incidents from the workplace; and continually improve our products and services.
Element 2: Policies, Objectives, and Standards
Senior management sets QHSE policies, standards, and objectives and communicates these to the workforce. SIPPAR Policies include statements of QHSE goals and objectives while standards define requirements and minimum acceptable criteria.
Element 3: Organization and Resources
Organizational structure, roles, and responsibilities are defined, and the necessary resources must be provided to achieve company QHSE objectives. Each employee is individually responsible for working safely, in an environmentally responsible manner, and ensuring that fellow employees and contractors do the same.
Element 4: Risk Management
Risk assessment and risk management are proactive approaches to QHSE issues. Rather than focusing on incident statistics, we focus primarily on identifying hazards, assessing risks, and controlling those risks for incident prevention.
Element 5: Contractor and Supplier Management
We must ensure that third parties meet the standards of excellence that our customers and we require. We are judged not only on our employees' performance but also on our contractor's and suppliers' overall performance.
Element 6: Business Processes
We must establish effective business processes that satisfy customers, meet social and community expectations, and maximize efficiency while minimizing loss and delivering value to stakeholders.
Element 7: Performance Monitoring and Measuring
Management expects all operations to be conducted in a manner that eliminates or minimizes QHSE risk. We continually endeavor to monitor and measure business processes to verify that customer, company, legal and other requirements are met. By maintaining detailed, accurate records, we will target, measure, and report on operations to benchmark our performance and ensure that we are always improving.
Element 8: Audit, Review, and Continuous Improvement
QHSE Management System Audits and Management Reviews are regularly conducted to assess the ongoing suitability and effectiveness of the QHSE Management System itself. Improvement action plans are developed due to these audits and reviews to ensure continuous improvement of the QHSE Management System.
SIPPAR is committed to protecting the environment, is determined to prevent accidents, and is a leader in workplace safety, and will continue to move forward through a strategy based on high standards of integrity and performance. All of our people, facilities, and partnerships, situated worldwide, are accountable for pursuing these goals by driving the QHSE Management Program. All business units and subsidiaries are aligned with SIPPAR’s corporate QHSE Management System. All the relevant policies and objectives are defined and clearly stated. The organizational structure and associated responsibilities for all parts of the business are highlighted. The arrangements are put in place to ensure that all policies are implemented, controlled, monitored, and improved as required.
